Vocational Programs

Hacienda’s Pre-vocational/Vocational Training for Young Men and Women Who Have Been Diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

This program allows its participants to experience different work environments before they choose a prevocational work site.

A few of our onsite training areas located at our beautiful South Mountain main campus are Dietary, Housekeeping, Laundry, Light Maintenance, Administrative Services, Human Resources, Central Supply, Design Works and a Technology Implementation Program. These programs will assist the participants in learning and mastering the personal and interpersonal skills that are necessary for them to be successful in their chosen fields. During their work experience, we emphasize social skills, problem solving, chain of command, hygiene, employer expectations and punctuality. The program provides the skills and knowledge necessary to secure gainful employment.

As participants approach graduation, they are assisted in securing employment by working closely with a Job Developer/Job Coach.  When their training is complete, Hacienda will also provide the graduates with letters of recommendation that specify the training they have received and the skills they have acquired.

Technology Implementation Program

Hacienda HealthCare’s Technology Implementation Program (TIP) provides ASD individuals with a state-of-the-art training opportunity in the field of computers and robotics.  In an educational environment, they can acquire 21st century skill sets. The program affords them real world, transferable skills that extend beyond the course content. Our goal is life-long learning.

The Technology Implementation Program is designed to teach marketable technology skills sets to ASD trainees. The program’s aim is to develop a diverse portfolio of “technical capacity” in each individual. Trainees participating in this program will work with personal computers, laser cutters, 3D printers, and related computer hardware to learn valuable skills such as troubleshooting, problem solving and creative thinking. The program will also teach important interpersonal skills such as teamwork and sociability. Our goal is for our clients to understand the fundamentals of computers and PC related equipment.
