Matt Salmon $2500 Nurse Education Training Scholarship

Matt has been one of Hacienda’s, and those entrusted to our care, strongest and most effective supporter and advocate for more than a quarter of a century. 

Matt has repeatedly assured that parents’ and their children’s rights are not violated.  His advocacy has also played a key role in Hacienda being able to effectively address challenges and opportunities.  His support has most assuredly helped Hacienda expand and enhance its prominence in Arizona’s health care delivery system. 

This scholarship recognizes Matt Salmon, advocate extraordinaire, whose commitment of time and energy has had a significant positive impact on the lives of Hacienda’s clients, patients and their families as well as Hacienda’s employees and supporters.

Matt Salmon $2,500 Nurse Training Scholarship exclusive to Hacienda HealthCare Employees pursuing LPN, RN, or BSN degrees.

Purpose: The purpose of the Matt Salmon Nursing Education Scholarship Fund is to help cover the education costs associated with earning an LPN, RN or BSN degree for one employee annually.

Scholarship Details:

  • $2,500 Scholarship to be awarded annually for educational training as an LPN, RN, or BSN.
  • Scholarship is not renewable, but recipient is allowed to reapply each year.
  • Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, lab fees, supplies, day care, etc.
  • Grades must be a C average upon submitting application.
  • Scholarship is based on merit and financial need.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be employed by Hacienda (full-time/part-time) for at least 1 year and in good standing.
  • Must have at least one year left of school/training.
  • Application process open to any Hacienda HealthCare employee currently pursuing further education in nursing with an LPN, RN or BSN degrees.
  • Applicant must attend an accredited school of nursing.
  • Applicant will be asked to describe financial need on the application.

Recipient’s responsibilities:

  • Maintain a C average.
  • Repay scholarship if you drop out of school or grades drop below C average.
  • Report at end of the year on how the scholarship was used and helped further your medical training.

The Selection Process:

  • A $2500 scholarship will be awarded to one eligible employee who has performed beyond expectations in caring for Hacienda, Inc. patients and clients and who also has a need for financial assistance.
  • Scholarship committee will consist of three management team members who will choose the scholarship recipient.

Recipient of the Matt Salmon Scholarship will be announced by the CEO at the annual Hacienda Holiday party – date TBD.
